20 Tips To Lighten Up, Live, Love & Thrive!

Our western society has not learned to live in the present. We are all under stress. We should learn to take one moment at a time.

48 hours of stress over time will reduce the size of the thymus gland by 50% and shut down the immune system. This is where disease sets in.

If you want to change somebody, change yourself. If you want to conquer the world, start by conquering yourself, this I have learned so well.

Stress and tension are major factors in causing intestinal constipation and are highly related to the occurrence of disease today. 50% of all stress occurs within the digestive tract, and this stress is pushed onto all the other systems within the body. When people become angered or mad and they feel like their stomach is in knots well, it is!

Stress can also cause toxins and crystallization in the body, destroying the flora within the intestines. This sets up an inflammatory response within the large intestine resulting in what we call the spastic colon.

As the flora in the large intestine becomes depleted, the belly becomes bloated with gas, which becomes lodged in the haustra of the bowel – otherwise bowel pockets – causing discomforts such as low back pain, false liver pain, pressure on the heart and reflex pain all over the body. This in turn causes heart, liver and spleen problems.

Some stresses are noise pollution, air pollution and schedule pressures. Emotions have a definite effect on our organs.

Let me tell you exactly what physiological changes take place in the body when it is under unmanaged stress, tension and strain:
-There is a sudden rise in activity in the digestive tract.
-Blood shifts from the abdominal organs to those essential to muscular exertion.
-There is an increase in the strength and the speed of contraction of the heart.
-Extra red blood cells are discharged from the spleen into the cardio vascular system to help carry more oxygen.
-There is deeper breathing and dilation of the bronchial tubes leading to the lungs.
-Blood sugar flows out of the liver to aid the body’s increased energy demands.

These physiological changes prepare the body for fight or flight. Unfortunately, that is the situation so many people find themselves in all day long. We are in a constant state of tension from the time we get up in the morning until the time we go to bed.

Since most of us can’t run away from our environment to escape stress and tension we must stay and fight the problem; be it an unhappy marriage, a bitter career disappointment, frustrating job, a miserable mean boss or daily bills.

Disease is on the rise because stress and frustration, suppressed rage or anger, unhappiness and depression can all cause exhaustion of the adrenal glands, which in turn leads to disease. We must learn to deal with stress or it may deal with us.
